About this collection

Postcards have been telling stories as souvenirs, correspondence and keepsakes for over 100 years. This collection of postcards chronicles Florida Southern College's early years as Southern College in Sutherland (now Palm Harbor), through its 1922 move to Lakeland, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Child of the Sun Campus, and subsequent development. The selection criteria for this digital collection is historical importance, artistic merit, architectural significance, and the general growth of Florida Southern College into one of this country's most beautiful college campuses. We are actively seeking additions to this collection.
